Virginia distinguished Purple Star School for supporting military connected students

Our mission is to provide a quality education through shared responsibility in a safe supportive environment for all students to meet the challenges of a global society. We are “Committed to Excellence”, and we work hard to make the site a primary source for timely information for all users, and a main gateway for improved communication between parents, teachers, students and other members of our community.

Landstown Reading Month Challenge! January is designated as National Reading Month. To celebrate Reading Month, Landstown is going to have their first ever Reading Month Challenge.
We are asking students to read 100 minutes per week (or 20 minutes 5 times per week) and keep a log of their reading. Each student has a thermometer and it needs to be signed at the end of each week. Students who read at least 100 minutes per week will receive prizes. As a school we are trying to read a total of 350,000 minutes for the month of January. Please do not hesitate to contact your child’s teacher if you have any questions about the reading challenge or how to support your child at home.

School Closures: School will be closed for everyone Monday, January 20th for Martin Luther King Jr. Day and will be closed for students Monday, January 27th for a staff day.

Spirit Day: Friday, January 24th will be our next Spirit Day. Dress like your favorite hero!
